Bleu d’Auvergne is a French blue cheese, named for its place of origin in the Auvergne region of south-central France. It is made from cow’s milk, and is one of the cheeses granted the Appellation d’origine contrôlée from the French government.
Bleu d’Auvergne has a strong and pungent taste, but to a lesser extent than other blue cheeses; it is less salted, with a creamier and more buttery taste and a moister texture.
Gorgonzola Piccante DOP is a sharp, intensely flavored Italian blue cheese made from cow’s milk in the Piedmont and Lombardy regions. Aged for at least 80 days to over 3 months, it features a firm, crumbly, and pale yellow texture with dense blue-green veining. It has a robust, spicy taste, making it ideal for salads, pasta sauces, and pairing with sweet dessert wines or honey.

Blue cheese has always been my favorite of all cheeses. This is my favorite of all blue cheeses I have ever tasted.

For years, I thought that the English Stilton blue cheese was the best blue cheese on Earth. Then I tried Frankie’s French version & WOW! This is my new favorite blue cheese. Nothing goes better with a couple of think slices of high-quality bacon.

It doesn’t “taste” like cheese. It tastes like a warm feeling of joy and gratitude. It’s glory is hard to describe beyond that. I don’t know of anything to compare it to, because it’s more of a feeling than a taste. The feeling it gives you defies description, and all other blue cheeses I have tried, simply give you a “taste” of that feeling, where this feels like diving straight into the deep end of the pool. The nonsense above is trying to convey the experience that is this cheese, but fails because as I said, it honestly doesn’t have a flavor, but rather a feeling. It is always sold out. That is the only downside.

I like my blue cheese to have a little more flavor and more blue in it but it was good. Just a personal preference. I only ate half since one of my coworkers threw it away because it was moldy… I had brought it with me to work as a snack. Won’t be doing that again!
