Warrior Bar - Meal Replacement Survival Bar
I wanted to wait until after a few bars to make this review. I've purchased many good things from Frankie, and my favorite among them all would have to be the Meat Granola. The recipe here isn't so bad, but I prefer the blueberry pemmican (at least the old version that took the form of large cups). There's definitely some consistency issues, with some bars being quite salty, and others presenting an excellent infusion of vanilla sweetness that's not too sweet. It doesn't have that nice, harder texture that the pemmican has (which I actually prefer), since it's a bit soft being consisting of whey powder as the base. In terms of sweetness, it's definitely comparable to the pemmican, but I'm not as super excited to reach for it as I would the granola.
But this bar is definitely something I would experiment with to see if it fits into your macros in a cost efficient manner. That would be the major upside of this; the cost. Truthfully, no meal replacement solution is going to be in the top tier of palatability - you go to the steaks for that.
For optimizing nutrition, I would definitely reach for the meat granola (if you're working out and need the pre-formed carbs) and the ribeyes/steaks sold by Frankie, but those can get expensive fast.
This warrior bar actually tasted not bad, but unfortunately the whey protein inflamed me pretty bad. So if you’re dairy sensitive like I am, stick to the pemmican.
Ordered 10 of these when they first came out. Excellent consistent quality. Sort of a moist, tallowy, doughy, but firm feel. Taste is slightly salty with the delicious vanilla and natural sweetness mild but addicting. I accidentally ate a whole bar in one sitting, then I realized how many calories and money I just consumed, woops! Great stuff, keeping the rest for emergency.
Taste good in my opinion, a more mellow beef tallow flavor. I have a sensitive stomach and can't have quick eats when I'm short on time but the Warrior Bar works great for my needs.
finally a fat source that I can handle. I hope there will be a sweeter version in the future.
