I don’t ever want eat bacon and eggs again without it. It has me more enthusiastic than ever about eating. I’d love to see what a really great cook could do with this stuff. That’d surely be something mind-blowing.
I've never tried Tallow before. Purchased this thinking based on price it must be the best. Upon opening the jar it smelled like ass. When I tried to taste some directly from the jar it tasted like ass. Once heated in the frying pan however the first thought was "this would be EXCELLENT for frying french fries!" Weird! For my application I fried Franky's Lamb Liver in it and it came out great! I think I'm officially a Tallow convert and what's more interesting is I don't feel the same side effects when frying with Butter as that would lead to bloating. All Tallow left me with was a happy belly.
I ordered the Wagyu tallow to give it a try as I had never used it before (having grown up using butter or margarine to fry) and it's pretty darn good! Frankie describes it like butterscotch - although it smells more reminiscent of pasture (that's a good thing!) . I've even tried it out of the jar to eat - definitely quality stuff!
