I've been addicted to US Wellness Meat’s pemmican for quite some time. So when I heard Frankie was making his own version "the right way" I got very excited. However, the pemmican I received was VERY disappointing. It was a nice shape and was a little greasy looking (which is fine). The top and the bottom were two completely different disappointing experiences. My first taste of the top had a light butterscotch flavor with a very waxy texture. After that initial hit of butterscotch there was nothing. No taste. Just wax. It was NOT salty at all even though I bought the salted version. The bottom of the cup was where I discovered the salt that had settled and a completely different flavor. It was gritty at the bottom, almost crispy, and had some sort of weird burnt flavor. Not very pleasant. I feel like I basically lit $32 on fire. Stick with US Wellness Meats or make your own.
I will say that pemmican is an acquired taste. However, once acquired the bars disappear quick! Also, don't listen to that other guy, the pemmican melts in your mouth. No need to make soup XD.
Really does taste like some sort of meat chocolate. I enjoyed it. Ate a bar and used the chainsaw out in the woods all day without even feeling hungry. Tastes delicious and the tasty variety doesn't go over my carb limit
The Pemican was gritty with some small hard pebbles of dried beef that could break a tooth. The only way I could eat it was to make a soup by adding hot water to soften up the little stones of beef. It was not at all pleasant to eat, but could be used as an emergency food when no fresh beef was available.
Damnn, for real these things are meat brownies. Frankie's tryna make me fat with how good these are
